Thor Soft Faced Hammers

A safer alternative for striking machined surfaces than conventional steel hammers. The impact resistant striking faces shape themselves to the component being struck, minimising rebound damage to the component and reducing noise pollution in the work place. The striking faces can be easily replaced once they have become worn. Available as standard, with a choice of 5 interchangeable face types:

Rawhide Face

Head manufactured from malleable iron fitted with two rawhide striking faces and solid wooden handle. Rawhide manufactured from genuine water buffalo hide, tightly coiled and pressed three times under powerful hydraulic presses to ensure uniform quality and maximum durability.

Dual Purpose Rawhide and Copper

Malleable iron head with solid wooden handle. The pure electrolytic copper striking face provides a safe high impact blow whilst the rawhide face gives a firm resilient blow that will not mark finished work.

Junior Thorlite Rubber Hammer

Light weight rubber faced hammer. Aluminium alloy head with solid wooden handle. Fitted with two rubber striking faces one soft (marked with red) and the other hard.

Rawhide head with solid wooden handle.

Spare Striking Faces For Thor Hammers

Easy to change, simply screw in. The striking faces are colour coded to allow easy identification of material type and hardness.

Grey

Soft PVC shore A63-73. Will not mark finished surfaces.

Rubber Mallets

Provide a gentle but firm blow with little rebound. Solid wooden self locking handles. The mallets are available in a range of sizes and grades of rubber to meet specific requirements.

Standard

All purpose mallet used widely for automotive, industrial, DIY and camping etc.

Laminated Compressed Wood Mallets

Compressed and laminated wooden mallet head with flush fitting glass fibre hoops to prevent the head from splitting.
