In such cases the Huffam centre locator provides a quick and efficient means of establishing the required position and can be used on any machine by an unskilled operator. It will indicate the relation between the centre line of any machine spindle and a datum face to within .0005" by the 'run-off' method and to within .0002" by using the light 'line' method. Although ideally suited for use on mills the Huffam centre locator can also be used on drills, lathes or any other rotating machinery employing a chuck.
