TAG Insert Features
* Very rigid clamping in a tangentially oriented pocket.

The TAG inserts are available with the familiar J- and C-Type chipformers, with neutral and angular frontal cutting edges. The new tools are equipped with a user-friendly clamping and extraction device. The TANG-GRIP family includes square shank tools, blades and inserts in 1.4 - 9.5mm widths in the most advanced IC830 and IC808 SUMO TEC grades. The blades are in standard siuzes which fit ISCAR's standard blocks.

First choice for soft materials, parting of tubes, small diameters and thin-walled parts. Cutting edge with positive rake. General applications on low carbon steel, alloy steel, austinitic stainless steel. Low-to-medium feed.

IC808 Grade Description:
(P15-P30/M20-M30/K20-K40/ S15-S25/N15-N25/H20-H30) SUMO TEC TiAlN PVD coated. A tough submicron substrate. For machining heat resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel, hard alloys and carbon steel at medium to high cutting speeds. Excellent notch wear and built-up edge resistance.

QX520 (ISO P10-P35 M10-M30 K10-K30) Coated. An excellent general purpose grade for medium roughing on Steels, Stainless and Cast Irons.

Grade Description: KC850 grade is equivalent to the following grades M25-M45, P25-P45. A tri-phase coating on an extra strong, cobalt-enriched substrate makes this Kennametal CCMT insert suitable for general purpose machining of many work piece materials. With the advent of higher machine tool spindle speeds, today it finds its best application in heavy cutting of low, medium, and high carbon steels, as well as medium hardness alloy and tool steels. Iscar HELITURN LD Inserts with High Helical Cutting Edge for High Metal Removal Rates. The HELITURN LD inserts WNMX ...-HTW and CNMX ...-HTW are produced from the most advanced SUMO TEC grades. These inserts are designed with very positive radial helical cutting edges and positive rake angles ? a combination which substantially reduces the cutting forces and facilitates higher productivity.

The CNMX and WNMX insert corners are equipped with a wiper configuration which produces high surface finish, even at high feeds.

In many cases the surface finish is sufficient for eliminating a finishing cut.
