Sandvik CoroThread 266 toolholders achieve threading insert stability with a new design of iLock insert locking interface on the toolholder. This keeps the insert rigid, maintains the correct threading profile and reduces out-of-specification product rejection. The insert has a slot for each of its three indexable cutting edges. One slot is located on a raised guide rail on the new interface of the shim. This guide rail locks the insert in its correct position in the pocket, giving repeatable accuracy with each threading pass.

All of this means that the cutting loads on the insert are dispersed with no pressure points; insert and holder maintain their design integrity. Leading to longer tool and holder life, less downtime for tool changes and greater continuity of production!

The blades are in standard siuzes which fit ISCAR's standard blocks.

First choice for soft materials, parting of tubes, small diameters and thin-walled parts. Cutting edge with positive rake. General applications on low carbon steel, alloy steel, austinitic stainless steel. Low-to-medium feed.

IC808 Grade Description:
A tough submicron substrate improved TiAIN PVD coated grade for better chip flow. Designed for machining heat resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel, hard alloys and carbon steel at medium to high cutting speeds, interrupted cut and unfavourable conditions. Excellent notch wear and built-up edge resistance.

First choice for the parting of bars, hard materials and tough applications. A positive rake, single cavity with negative land and shoulders, provides extra cutting-edge strength, medium-to-high feeds.

IC830 Grade description: (P20-P50/M20-M40/K15-K40/ S15-S40) PVD TiAlN coated tough grade followed by a special SUMO TEC surface treatment. Suitable for milling stainless steel, high temperature alloys and other alloy steels. Recommended for interrupted cut and heavy operations.
