Fit Test Kits

The revision of COSHH Regulations COSHH:2002, requires employers to conduct a fit-test on any employee wearing a tight fitting face pieces. Tight fitting face pieces include disposables, half masks and full face masks. The largest contributor to reduced respiratory protection is poor fit. Fit testing is an important requirement in the process of determining whether a given respirator is the correct respirator for a particular worker. Fit-testing helps determine that a particular model and size of respirator fits a worker so there is minimal face seal leakage. There are 2 fit testing methods: qualitative and quantitative. Generally, qualitative fit testing is acceptable for most disposables and half masks, although quantitative fit testing is required when negative pressure full face piece masks are used.

Integrated suspension models offer the advantages of being fully assembled and ready to use. They can be suitable for applications that require frequent replacement of the entire headtop assembly, such as pharmaceutical manufacturing or in situations where there’s less soiling of the outer fabric.
