Dormer's A002 Jobber Drill has a standard helix, it is right hand and has wider flutes for efficient chip removal. 118 point geometry. TiN coated on the tip for high wear resistance, lower friction and allows increased cutting speeds. Suitable for general-purpose drilling.

Manufactured to DIN 69880. Suitable for use in NC lathes with VDI fixing disc. Features: All tools are fully carburised and hardened. Surface hardness of 58 - 60HRC. Tensile strength above 1000N/mm2. Surfaces blued; seat, parallel shank and shoulder ground. Tools can be adjusted in-situ on radial and axial toolholders. Seat shim allows two tool sizes to be used with one toolholder. Black Finish (W-Finish)
This is the most common surface finish and is the result of a steam tempering operation in which steam is passed over the product during a controlled tempering cycle, producing a black oxide layer. Black tools are generally recommended for ferrous applications where the oxide layer aids chip flow, helps to dissipate heat by retaining some coolant on the tool surface and also helps to prevent the tool from staining.
