Simultaneous movement of both slide-blocks on rough boring heads. Inner pre-load device between body and slide block on finish boring heads. Override device on adjusting screw in rough boring heads. Few boring head components. Simple adjusting and locking mechanism. Setting diameter with boring head mounted in machine tool using micrometer or caliper. After setting to the required diameter it prevents slide block from moving while tightening lock screw. Prevents adjusting screw from stripping threads; very easy and fast to adjust. Dual insert head design for heavy duty roughing. 12 different head sizes cover a diameter range from 24 to 500mm. Integral insert pocket design for head sizes 22 - 54. Insert cartridge design for head sizes 68 - 500. Heads and cartridges available for up to 5 different insert styles (MC.., CC.., CN.., TC.., WC..). Simultaneous adjustment of the slide blocks. Override device to prevent stripping of adjusting screw. Micrometer adjustment on large boring heads, with 0.01mm increments. Cartridges have own radial adjusting screw for individual setting of cartridges. Change to different lead angle or insert style by simply exchanging cartridges.

Cartridge Design for Heads Size 68 ? 500mm:
Cartridges available for 5 different insert styles (MC.., CC.., CN.., TC.., WC..) Cartridges available with 75 and 90 lead angle, equipped with a radial adjusting screw for setting centrality or radial stagger. Available in pairs for symmetric or axial staggered insert set-up.

Kennedy carbide tipped holesaws last up to 10 times longer than standard hole saws and resist wear and heat caused by friction much better than traditional holesaws, making them the best choice for cutting tough material such as tile, stainless steel.

Sherwood Jobber Drills Steam Tempered HSS

Suitable for drilling steel, cast steel, alloyed and unalloyed, grey cast iron, spheroidal iron, sintered powder metal, German silver and graphite. Manufactured to BS328/DIN338RN.

Black Finish (W-Finish)
This is the most common surface finish and is the result of a steam tempering operation in which steam is passed over the product during a controlled tempering cycle, producing a black oxide layer. Black tools are generally recommended for ferrous applications where the oxide layer aids chip flow, helps to dissipate heat by retaining some coolant on the tool surface and also helps to prevent the tool from staining.

Sherwood BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) HSS Ground Thread Dies

Sherwood dies are for use in die stocks to cut external screw threads on metal rod, the split in the die allows the adjusting screws of the diestock to compress or expand the die to accommodate for slight variations in size of the material being threaded or die sharpness. Sherwood dies are available as Metric Fine, Metric Coarse, UNF, UNC, BA, BSF, BSW, BSPT, BSPF, NPT cutting threads all the dies are manufactured from HSS with precision ground threads to the applicable standard.

Kennedy Endmills

Kennedy KC3 throwaway 3* flute endmills are manufactured HSS-Co 5% making them much tougher than HSS. This means that Kennedy endmills can be used at higher speeds and feeds which in turn gives greater productivity.

Kennedy KC3 endmills are available uncoated, TiN coated and TiCN coated.

TiN (Titanium nitride) provides a surface hardness in the region of 2300HV which offers improved wear resistance, tool life and productivity.

TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) gives a surface hardness in the region of 3000-3500 HV, excellent wear resistance and good heat resistance. This coating is used for the same things as TiN but also for hard steels, stainless, cast iron, brass & bronze.

OSG Taps

OSG type 1066 machine taps are manufactured from 3% Vanadium Super Grade High Speed Steel. Increasing the vanadium content improves the toughness without making the tap brittle. This means the tap has a greater resistance to work generated heat, which prolongs the life of the cutting edge.

Spiral Point taps are suitable for threading through holes.
