TAG Insert Features
* Very rigid clamping in a tangentially oriented pocket.
* Enables machining at very high feed rates and provides excellent straightness and surface finish.
* Recommended for parting large diameter parts and for * Offers a free, unobstructed chip flow, since there is no upper jaw as in the other clamping systems (very important in deep grooving and parting applications.

The TAG inserts are available with the familiar J- and C-Type chipformers, with neutral and angular frontal cutting edges. The new tools are equipped with a user-friendly clamping and extraction device. The TANG-GRIP family includes square shank tools, blades and inserts in 1.4 - 9.5mm widths in the most advanced IC830 and IC808 SUMO TEC grades. The blades are in standard siuzes which fit ISCAR's standard blocks.

Iscar HELITURN LD Inserts with High Helical Cutting Edge for High Metal Removal Rates. The HELITURN LD inserts WNMX ...-HTW and CNMX ...-HTW are produced from the most advanced SUMO TEC grades. These inserts are designed with very positive radial helical cutting edges and positive rake angles ? a combination which substantially reduces the cutting forces and facilitates higher productivity.

The CNMX and WNMX insert corners are equipped with a wiper configuration which produces high surface finish, even at high feeds.

In many cases the surface finish is sufficient for eliminating a finishing cut.
HELITURN LD inserts were designed for heavy machining applications. Their unique design ensures reliable, Fast Metal Removal.

ISCAR has recently added the HMW chipformer for machining stainless steel, high temperture alloys and soft, low carbon steel.

ISCAR Tang-Grip? uses a single-ended insert for parting, with a revolutionary clamping method (patent pending). Very rigid clamping is achieved in a tangentially oriented pocket. This increases pocket life by 3 times more than any other SELF-GRIP mechanism.

Tang-Grip? TGFH Parting & Grooving Blades

ISCAR Tang-Grip? has the following features:

? Enables machining at high feed rates and provides excellent straightness and surface finish.
? Provides a solution to the problem of inserts being pulled out during retraction. Has a solid stopper, unlike the friction retaining force in the current systems. (Especially important on machines with a bar feeder or sub spindles.)
? In the SELF-GRIP? system the machining forces are exerted on a very short stopper, while in the TANG-GRIP system, machining forces are supported by a long and rigid rear wall. Pocket wear, which occurs during machining and insert indexing in the SELF-GRIP? system, causes a reduction in the clamping force. This does not happen with the new TANG-GRIP? system.
? The TANG-GRIP? system provides very accurate grooving repeatability.
? The combination of tangential clamping and free chip flow results in improved tool and pocket life.
? Offers a free, unobstructed chip flow. This is very important in deep grooving, since there is no upper jaw to interfere as in the other clamping systems.
