TiN coating has been applied to 35%-50% of the flute length (dependent on drill diameter) to keep cost down and lower the cost per hole. The 135 split point is advantageous for the pre-drilling of rivets and for drilling in sheet metal. Suitable for drilling alloy steel, carbon steels, cast iron, titanium and aluminium. Manufactured to DIN1897, ANSI.

TAG Insert Features
* Very rigid clamping in a tangentially oriented pocket.

The TAG inserts are available with the familiar J- and C-Type chipformers, with neutral and angular frontal cutting edges. (P20-P50/M20-M40/K15-K40/ S15-S40) PVD TiAlN coated tough grade followed by a special SUMO TEC surface treatment. Suitable for milling stainless steel, high temperature alloys and other alloy steels. Recommended for interrupted cut and heavy operations.

Stronger drill body with new surface treatment can withstand higher feeds. Wiper geometry for best surface finish. Optimized chip channels for accelerated chip evacuation. Easy identification due to laser marking with drill-, insert- and screw codes on the drill shank.

IC808 Grade Description:
A tough submicron substrate improved TiAIN PVD coated grade for better chip flow. Designed for machining heat resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel, hard alloys and carbon steel at medium to high cutting speeds, interrupted cut and unfavourable conditions. Excellent notch wear and built-up edge resistance.

Sherwood Die Nuts

Sherwood ground thread die nuts are suitable for repairing damaged or crossed threads and clearing swarf from threads. When using a die nut (on an existing thread) it is not necessary to apply the same level of precise initial alignment required to form a new thread (i.e. with a die) as the nut will follow the existing threads. They are supplied as hexagon drive allowing them to be turned by a standard spanner or adjustable wrench without the need for a special stock.
