Grade Description: KC850 grade is equivalent to the following grades M25-M45, P25-P45. A tri-phase coating on an extra strong, cobalt-enriched substrate makes this Kennametal CCMT insert suitable for general purpose machining of many work piece materials. With the advent of higher machine tool spindle speeds, today it finds its best application in heavy cutting of low, medium, and high carbon steels, as well as medium hardness alloy and tool steels. Excellent thermal and mechanical shock resistance makes grade KC850 ideally suited for difficult applications with interruptions.

The Kennametal insert grade KC725M (ISO M15-M35, P15-P35, K15-35) is a multi-layer PVD coating with a tough 11.5% cobalt substrate. General purpose medium-speed grade for milling steel, stainless steel, and ductile cast iron. Good resistance to thermal shock. Suitable for wet and dry machining applications. Speed range: 300 - 650 SFM on steel materials; 200 - 500 SFM on stainless steel materials.

(P20 - P35 CVD coated). The optimum cutting grade for machining steel in the upper cutting speed range. The polished chipbreaker gives the cutting edge maximum protection against chip strike, reduces friction temperature and results in an improved surface finish. This grade has well-adjusted wearing and toughness properties, cobalt enriched material with multi-layer coating.
