Guhring Machine Chucking Reamers Intermediate Diameter HSS-E

Available in diameters ranging from 2mm to 10mm in increments of 0.01mm. Made from HSS-E steel with a bright finish, left hand spiral flute. For all ferrous and non-ferrous metals and hard and soft plastics. For use on CNC machines, producing high quality reamed holes. Manufactured to DIN 212 and DIN 2172 section 1.

Dormer Stub Drills HSS TiN Tip Coated

Designed for increased productivity and tool life compared to standard stub drills. TiN coating has been applied to 35%-50% of the flute length (dependent on drill diameter) to keep cost down and lower the cost per hole. The 135 split point is advantageous for the pre-drilling of rivets and for drilling in sheet metal. Suitable for drilling alloy steel, carbon steels, cast iron, titanium and aluminium. General purpose drills for steels, cast steel, grey cast iron, malleable cast iron, nickel brass, aluminium alloy and graphite. Point angle: 118, helix angle: normal, web thickness: standard, relief angle: 8 - 20, tolerance of diameter: h8, tolerance of shank: f11. Manufactured to ANSI B328, BS 328 and DIN 338.

Number & Letter Gauge Drills:
Gauge drills are still in common use in the U.S. In the past, they were popular elsewhere, but now have been largely discarded in favour of metric sizes. When using a gauge rather than a standard measurement of size the user has to refer to a table of gauge sizes. For example, to drill a hole which is 10 thou (thousandth of an inch .0010) bigger than a 1/8 inch bolt, the user must first work out that 1/8 inch is 125 thou, so the hole size needed is 135 thou, and then must look up in a reference book which gauge drill bit is closest to this diameter - a number 29. Number gauge sizes are similar or equivalent in some respects to, but different from, American wire gauge. Number gauge is usually used from size 80 (the smallest) to size 1 (the largest) followed by letter gauge size A (the smallest) to size Z (the largest). Number gauge is actually defined down to size 97, but these smaller sizes are rarely encountered. It happens that as the technology for making small drill bits and drilling small holes has become more available, metric drills have become the norm.

Guhring Jobber Drills Steam Tempered HSS

Suitable for drilling steel, cast steel, alloyed and unalloyed, grey cast iron, spheroidal iron, sintered powder metal, German silver and graphite. Manufactured to BS328/DIN338RN.

Black Finish (W-Finish)
This is the most common surface finish and is the result of a steam tempering operation in which steam is passed over the product during a controlled tempering cycle, producing a black oxide layer. Black tools are generally recommended for ferrous applications where the oxide layer aids chip flow, helps to dissipate heat by retaining some coolant on the tool surface and also helps to prevent the tool from staining.
