Castrol Metal Cutting Lubricants

A nitrite and phenol-free synthetic grinding and general-purpose metalworking fluid, which has been specially formulated for use with hard water. This hard water stability prevents the de-stabilising effects of the build-up of salts. Offers excellent resistance to all types of corrosion including electrolytic corrosion caused by iron/copper or iron/aluminium combinations. A long life coolant formulated to control the growth of bacteria and fungi. It is equally suited to both central and individual systems, providing rapid swarf settling properties, and complete acceptability and safety in use. Particularly suited to those areas with hard water (typically over 200ppm calcium hardness) and can be used for a wide range of operations including grinding, milling, drilling and turning.

Techniclean MTC 43 Machine Tool Cleaner

Techniclean MTC 43 is a medium to heavy duty machine tool cleaner and steriliser, based upon powerful low foaming surfactants, emulsifiers and antimicrobiological agents.
APPLICATION
Techniclean MTC 43 has been specifically formulated to deal with a wide variety of machine tool contaminants and is easy to use with minimum disruption to production, being added direct to the coolant system whilst still in operation.

Cleans machine tool systems of a wide range of contaminants including fatty build-up in pipelines and floor ducts

CONDITIONS OF USE
An addition of 1 - 3% of Techniclean MTC 43 is recommended. The amount added depends on the general condition of the coolant system (1% is usually adequate)
Introduce Techniclean MTC 43 where there is a good coolant movement e.g. immediately beyond the pump outflow back to the main settling tank, or direct into a velocity trench or floor
return channel. This ensures complete mixing with the coolant.
Add Techniclean MTC 43 8 - 24 hours the day before the coolant is scheduled to be discarded. The machine tools should then be operated normally for a minimum of eight hours.
Machine tools, which are not wetted by the emulsion, could be cleaned manually by using a 2 - 3% dilution of Techniclean MTC 43.
Following this period of circulation (max 24 hours), empty the entire coolant system and machines and dispose of the coolant in accordance with normal work procedures.
Rinsing with a fresh coolant (about 1%) is recommended.

Q8 Cutting Oils

High performance neat cutting oil providing excellent tool life and surface finish. Castrol Spheerol L-EP Greases

Lithium-based general-purpose extreme pressure greases, based upon mineral oils and incorporating extreme pressure agents to protect bearing components subject to heavy and shock loadings. Available in a range of consistencies to suit most applications, from an NLGI 2 for general-purpose bearing lubrication to an NLGI 00 semi-fluid grease suitable for centralised lubrication systems and grease filled gearboxes. Being lithium-based, Spheerol EPL greases have good water tolerance, are resistant to water washing and incorporate powerful rust inhibitors to protect bearing components against corrosion.

Flexiclean Aqueous Alkaline Cleaner

A multi-purpose low foaming liquid alkaline cleaner which can be used over a wide range of temperatures. Suited to a very wide range of operations in production engineering. It is both nitrite and phosphate free, as well as being suitable for virtually all ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Compatible with aluminium

Can be used as:
* An industrial spray wash cleaner for removing fine swarf, dirt, machine oil, and metalworking coolant from machined components.
* A machine tool cleaner for central systems, individual sumps, and other contaminated areas of machine tools. It is suitable for use with all types of soluble metalworking fluids including synthetics.
* A general purpose maintenance cleaner on floors, walls and other hard surfaces.
* A deburring, smoothing and deflashing medium in conjunction with abrasive stones.
* A dip tank cleaner for removal of light contamination. More difficult soils can be removed in immersion equipment agitated by mechanical shakers, pneumatic reciprocators, air sparging or ultrasonics.

Benefits:
* Eliminates the need to stock a wide variety of cleaners and avoids the danger of mixing one product with another.
* Does not affect suitably painted surfaces of machine tools, equipment and industrial surfaces including cement and plastics.

Recommended dilution rates:
Industrial spray washing: 1% - 10% concentration depending on the contaminant to be removed, substrate, and inhibition required.
Coolant system cleaning: 0.5% - 2% of Flexiclean should be added to the system on the day before the coolant is due to be discharged will ensure thorough cleaning by the time the entire coolant system is emptied the following day.
